The Count of Burgundy (Tristanian: comte de Bourgogne) is the current head of the House of Burgundy and the former fiancé of Éléonore de La Vallière.

Personal life[]

The count was engaged to Éléonore de La Vallière, the eldest daughter of the Duke of La Vallière. However, he canceled his engagement due to her abuse.[1]

Origin[]

The County of Burgundy is named after Burgundy, a historical region in France settled by the the originally Germanic Burgundians. The region was divided into the Duchy of Burgundy and the Free County of Burgundy, which now correspond to the current administrative regions of Burgundy and Franche-Comté ("Free County").
